The real cost of untracked time
Every unlogged hour is a small loan you give your clients, interest-free.

Where the money leaks
Teams that bill by the hour rarely lose money in one big way. They lose it in small, forgotten pieces: the call that ran long, the extra revision, the favour that became a habit.
Individually they look harmless. Added up across a quarter, they are often the difference between a healthy margin and a thin one.
Make tracking the path of least resistance
People skip tracking when it is a chore. Put a timer where the work happens, show the running timer everywhere, and let people fix an entry later without ceremony.
The goal is not surveillance. It is a picture honest enough to price the next project correctly.
Use the numbers kindly
Share the findings as a team problem, not an individual one. When the data shows a client costs more than they pay, the right conversation is about scope, not blame.
